- Programs that are run from a DVD or a CD can be copied directly into your hard drive. This not only makes running them that much easier, but it also consumes less power compared to running it from your laptop’s optical drive.
- If your laptop is running on Windows then turn off any auto-save features that may be active in any Microsoft Office programs and other applications.
- Choose an option which allows your laptop to power off the monitor after 10 minutes of inactivity. This can usually be found in the control panel list of options if your device is running on Windows.
These tips to improve battery life have been found to be pretty effective. So there should be no harm in following them if you want to prolong your laptop battery’s lifespan. Remember that many factors contribute to your battery getting compromised so it might also do you well to do some research on the factors which cause this problem for your specific model. It is, after all, much better to be mindful of your devices and maintaining them rather than having to buy a new one instead. There is no need for you to waste your money on a new gadget when you can pretty much do with the one you have as long as you take care of it.
